ROBERT WEISZ, PH.D.

Robert Weisz, Ph.D., LP, is a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist, supervisor, consultant, and trainer who has been in practice for over 40 years in the front lines of providing mental health services. He has spent the last 25 years integrating the discoveries of years of study and practice in the realms of psychotherapy, mindfulness, neurobiology, hypnosis and spirituality.

 

Robert is an expert practitioner and trainer in Ericksonian Hypnotherapy and in the new brain-based therapeutic modality known as Brainspotting. He is an international trainer and brings a unique blend of extensive clinical experience, mindful presence, and a depth of knowledge of the healing process to his clinical and training work. His teachers include Bonnie Badenoch and Daniel Siegel, Milton Erickson, and all of his clients. He has a gift for presenting and making accessible the complexities of brain science in the context of a skillful and compassionate healing relationship.

 

Dr. Weisz has served on the clinical faculty of the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, and on the faculties of the University of Wyoming, Webster University, and Southwestern College. He is director of the Brainspotting and Hypnotherapy Clinic, and director of the Milton Erickson Institute of New Mexico. He is the author of numerous scientific articles and two book chapters in the fields of sleep and dream research and stress and mental health in boom towns, as well as an audiotape series of hypnotic healing journeys.
