KATE GEOFFROY, JD

Kate Geoffroy, dedicates her practice to elder law and estate planning, including guardianships, conservatorships, Medicaid planning, long term care planning and probate matters. Ms. Geoffroy has been practicing law in Maine for over 25 years. She joined the Nelson-Reade Law Office in 2003 and has qualified as a certified elder law attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation. Attorney Geoffroy is one of only three CELAs in the state. She is a member of the Maine Bar Association, Elder Law Section, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Ms. Geoffroy holds a BS degree in Biology from Yale University and a JD, cum laude, from Boston College Law School, where she was an editor of the Boston College Law Review. After graduating from law school, she clerked for Chief Justice Vincent McKusick of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. Prior to joining the Nelson-Reade Law Office, Attorney Geoffroy was with Pierce Atwood, the largest law firm in Maine, for 14 years. She speaks regularly on elder law issues at professional conferences and community events.
