ROBERT MONTGOMERY, PHD, BCBA-D

Robert Montgomery, Ph.D., BCBA-D, is a licensed clinical psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst – Doctoral. Dr. Montgomery has 30 years of experience providing assessment and therapy for a range of developmental disorders, mental health issues and behavior challenges in youth across a range of settings. He consults to families, schools and personnel who serve individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as a range of behavioral and mental health issues presented by youth. Dr. Montgomery presents nationally on these topics to therapists, educators, parents and family members.

 

Dr. Montgomery earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Georgia State University; completed his Residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center & Jackson VAMC; and completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychology at the Georgia Mental Health Institute. He served on the Board of Directors of the Association for Science in Autism Treatment, the original American Psychological Association Task Force on Empirically Validated Treatments, the Alabama Behavior Analysis Peer Review Committee, and as chair of the Clinical Behavior Analysis Interest Group of the Association for Behavior Analysis International. 

 

Dr. Montgomery co-authored the book The Essential Guide to Asperger’s Syndrome and is published in a variety of professional journals on such applied topics as compliance training, medication effects on developing brains, reduction of aggression and overcorrection. He has also taught clinical and behavioral courses at Auburn and Georgia State Universities.
