ANNE MONTERO, MS PHD HSPP

Dr. Anne Mary Montero, MS, PhD, HSPP, is a clinical psychologist, board-certified as a health service provider in psychology with more than 20 years’ experience treating patients in the nexus of medical and psychological overlap, including primary provision of pre-operative evaluations for patients with chronic pain, as well as psychotherapy for coping with these ongoing challenges.  She maintains a full-time clinical psychological practice and was recently named Medical Director, founding and leading the clinical psychology program at Indiana University Health’s North Hospital with both inpatient and outpatient care.  Dr. Montero is a member of the Indiana Attorney General’s Task Force on Opioid Abuse and Response Prevention and is an invited member of the IU Health Behavioral Health Collaborative Executive Leadership Team.  Dr. Montero is a sought-after, nation-wide speaker on health psychology topics and has also written for publications, including professional research contributions, and public health awareness blogs, such as the IU Health publication, The Strength in You.  She earned her undergraduate degree from Notre Dame, and both Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, with honors, and was an invited member of Phi Kappa Phi.  Her research earned her distinction, including the American Psychological Association’s Dissertator Award for early achievement in investigation.  She has been awarded grants from the US Department of Health and Human Services, and numerous fellowship and travel awards.
