Overview the B2B Sales Team:
The PESI B2B Sales Team identifies opportunities to deliver world-class behavioral health, rehab, and healthcare education to organizations and professionals around the world! As an international leader in continuing education, PESI is looking to expand its educational reach by identifying new, as well as scaling existing, business-to-business opportunities. The bounds of this position will only be limited by the entrepreneurial spirit of the successful candidate that accepts the role. Candidates for this position must be team players, possess exceptional drive, be entrepreneurial, love the game of business, and be naturally curious. Our goal is to meet the needs of organizations that want to train groups of their staff at a time and place convenient for them. A successful B2B Sales Manager will embrace working in an environment where building relationships is key.

What You Will Be Doing: (responsibilities)
  • Chase opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase B2B business
  • Identify and be confident in negotiating agreements with potential customers, and the decision makers within the customer’s organization
  • Grow revenue through creative opportunities for our B2B customers
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with state and national associations, co-sponsor organizations, industry influencers, and key strategic partners
  • Daily phone/e-mail activity is required for generating and following up on leads
  • Administrative responsibilities to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained; including coordinating logistics for live (virtual or in-site) continuing education trainings
  • Develop rapport with new customers, and set targets for sales and provide support that will continually improve the relationship
  • Complete control and responsibility for servicing/facilitating events sold
  • Work internally with multiple departments to ensure that continuing education standards are met, and post-event financials are reported
  • Work with internal Business Development and marketing teams on topic knowledge, marketing, and presenter selection
  • Complete and maintain accurate sales information and perform reporting functions on an ongoing and timely basis including quotes/pricing and contracts
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within CRM

What You Bring to the Team: (skills and requirements)
  • 3- 5 years working experience in a sales metrics driven role
  • BS/BA in Marketing or Business Administration or equivalent work experience
  • A keen entrepreneurial drive with the ability to act independently with a sense of urgency and the confidence to handle a variety of challenges
  • Accountable for individual performance measures
  • Exceptional relationship development and management skills
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Extremely comfortable with cold calling and prospecting
  • Excellent problem-solving skills in a challenging and fast paced environment
  • Flexibility to be self-motivated but also excel in a team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize based on revenue opportunities
  • Comfortable in taking on administrative tasks in addition to closing revenue-driving deals
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving and negotiation with special emphasis on closing the sale
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Hubspot)

Overview of the PESI Publishing Team:
The PESI Publishing team is a rapidly growing independent publisher that produces mental health workbooks, treatment guides, children’s books, flip charts, and therapeutic card decks for clinicians, educators, and other professionals. Our recently launched trade imprint, Bridge City Books, produces self-help resources, memoirs, and other self-improvement books that “bridge” the gap between our clinical audience and the everyday person.

We work with respected experts, thought leaders, and professionals in the fields of psychology, wellness, parenting, personal growth, and more, including Amazon and New York Times bestselling authors such as Lori Gottlieb, Judson Brewer, Daniel Siegel, Janina Fisher, David Burns, and more! We publish 30 to 40 titles annually and are only growing every year. Our collaborative team works in a fast-paced environment, takes calculated risks, and brings passion to everything we do (and we actually mean it!).

What You Will Be Doing: (responsibilities)
  • Design book covers, interiors, and components
  • Work collaboratively with acquisitions, production editors, and manufacturing to complete projects per established design and standards
  • Package files, create final pdfs for printers
  • Fulfill image requests from other departments for publicity, marketing, and social media
  • Maintain content specifications and design guidelines 
  • Manage production schedules and changing initiatives while meeting deadlines

What You Bring to the Team: (skills and requirements)
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of experience in book publishing design or editorial design
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, and Illustrator); Advanced InDesign skills preferred
  • Strong knowledge of typography, page layout, and graphic design principles
  • Full understanding of black & white and full-color printing processes, RGB/CMYK color spaces, and image formats
  • Ability to think creatively and be an effective problem solver, while staying in budget and on schedule 
  • Capability to follow direction and the flexibility to modify a design response based on project feedback
  • Enjoys a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment
  • A portfolio with strong book cover and book interior layout designs
